Knowledge Base (help and support)
Thanks for your input. Prayer requests are submitted by the respective AC ministry organizations and as such, are reviewed by their appropriate authorities prior to submission. AC Central admins are not in a role to screen for this type of thing, especially given the wide range of convictions on issues.
In the just-released AC Central 3.0 update, downloads are now managed on Android as they are in iOS. Progress on each file download is displayed in the app.
Add a 'sort by' option to any list of sermons. For example, sort by date, minister, OT text, NT text
Closing this request, since based on the information provided, it appears to be asking for something that is already included in the app by using the filter function.
Sharing sermons
The option to share a sermon( send an audio file) via email or text messaging. I love listening and wish I could send a sermon to family members who don't have the app downloaded.
Thanks for your comment. Sermon sharing is already included in the app, through email and text. Simply touch the share icon when in the sermon player screen of the app. If the person you share with does not have AC Central, they will be given the option to play the sermon in their web browser on their computer or mobile device.
This is already possible in the app. Just click the magnifying glass and filter by entering the minister name in the "Search Speakers" field.
Search Hymn Field - Update tip text to include song #
The new version of the app allows to search by hymn number. It might be helpful to update the search field "tip text" from "search by title or lyrics" to "search by title, lyrics or hymn number." Had I not read the version description notes I probably would not have discovered the feature. Even after reading about it, I initially couldn't find where to search for a hymn number. I kept looking past that search field because it specifically said "search by title or lyrics" and didn't indicate that I could also put a hymn number in that field also.
Incorrect audio files
When two hymns have the same title, the audio file is frequently associated with the wrong score, for example, in "City of God."
Thanks for pointing this out. Apparently the batch upload process used to bring in all the Zion's Harp midi files disregarded the numbers in the file names. It is now fixed. However, any previously downloaded hymns with incorrect or missing midis will need to be deleted and redownloaded, and it could take awhile for your app to refresh and clear it's cache before you see the correct midis.
Bug in Search Filter
Change search function so that 1. Speaker name is not deleted when selecting a book or date range, 2. Filtered view should not be lost if a sermon from the filtered view is downloaded.
Auto scrub past singing
button that automatically finds the first spoken word and skips singing tracks. Maybe technically challenging.
XM radio
Would love to have a Sirius XM radio channel of traditional a capella hymns.
That would be a great opportunity to familiarize non-AC's and younger generation AC's with traditional hymns. Modern songs titillate the senses sometimes too much; sometimes (or all the time?) ya just need simple truth & harmony in a peaceful delivery.
Especially the noisier & more raucous the world gets the more people crave peace. They could be browsing thru XM channels and think, "You know, this is actually quite lovely." The only tranquility-building channels are the meditation/spa channels.
I tried looking up costs to see if I could afford to support a channel financially - are we talkin' hundreds (yeah right), thousands or millions of $$, idk. But didn't find anything useful 😒
Over the years I've accumulated my own library of mp3 hymns, but I've given up on using all that data space on my phone just to listen to it in the car. And Pandora just doesn't get it quite right. For my own personal listening, I guess I should just bite the bullet and take years' worth of pix off my phone and put the music back on... 🤦🏽♀️
