College weekend talks
Why did the college weekend talks disappear? They were under Champaign in October 2018. Is anyone else having this problem?
They have not disappeared. They were moved to a better location. See College Weekend in the Events category.
Save for later button
Would love to save sermons to a list that I would like to listen to at a later time. I often forget the one that someone suggested I listen to.
In version 4, you can use either the Playlist or Favorites to accomplish this.
Can’t download on phone
I have an iPhone 8 and I was able to download sermons and podcasts in October. Now in December 2018, I would like to download again for a trip and there is no download button in studio or sermons, just play or cancel options.
You can still download Sermons, Events and Studio recordings. However, you must be in a specific category (a congregation in Sermons, or a particular event in Events e.g. Brotherhood Conferences, ACCFS Conferences, etc. or select the studio series you want in Studio, such as Breaking Bread) in order to get the download option, which is a "download from the cloud" icon. This also allows downloading multiple items at once.
Download items
At this point, it appears the items in the events tab cannot be downloaded and listen to later. We’re getting ready for a road trip and it would be nice to be able to download the large events over Wi-Fi at home and listen to them later the same options as is available for sermons .
Events can be downloaded. Just like with Sermons, you do need to be in a specific category (e.g. Brotherhood Conferences, ACCFS Conferences, etc.) in order to get the download option.
We recently changed our streaming provider (a couple churches still need to switch over yet) and issued updates to the iOS and Android apps. The new Android app contained a new audio player. In our testing, this has eliminated 90% of the problems so for now, we are going to consider this Fixed (there will never be 100% perfection in streaming given all the variables from church to end user that could fail.)
Reading the Silver Lining through the app requires a one-time registration by completing a contact form in the app. After that you can access any issue. There should not be any restriction based on the user's location. If you are still experiencing problems after registering, please post here with the specific details of the error you experience.
Complete range of features on website
I would like to see all the same features on the website as are on the mobile app. (especially the hymns)
Features available for non-mobile devices?
On my computer I can only access 3 features of AC Central--sermons, studio, and events. Are the other features going to become available on http://accentral.apostolicchristian.org/ ?
Currently, there are no plans to expand the website to exactly mimic the app functionality. We have limited development funds and 95% of all AC Central traffic is on mobile devices so that is where we focus our efforts. That being said, you can post this as a feature request and if it gets enough votes, it will be considered.
The latest iOS version of the app added simultaneous background downloading of multiple recordings. However, this is only available when viewing a specific congregation / event / studio. Downloading is no longer available when viewing "All Congregations/Events/Studio". To download, you just need to go down a level of specificity.
Sermons: Direct link/url to a Church's Sermon Page
It would be nice to have the ability to link/bookmark directly to our Church's sermon page. Currently you have to go the general page and then choose the Congregation from the list. However as someone streaming/uploading sermons I go to our page to see if the streaming is live. Would be nice to not have to choose our Congregation each time.
You can access any congregation directly by going to this URL (showing an example of Rittman): http://accentral.apostolicchristian.org/congregation/Rittman
