Search results sort order

Jeff Steiner 2 weeks ago updated by Admin 1 week ago 2

I realized today that when I search among sermons for a speaker, etc, the results seem to be listed in a random order.  For example, I was looking for a talk by Brother Fred Witzig, so I searched for his name and the first results are from the following dates, in this order:  8/17/25, 12/29/19, 12/19/19, 12/11/16, 1/21/22, 8/10/25, and I didn't get to his most recent talk on 11/30/25 until the ninth result in the search list.  After that one, they appear to be in descending order by date, but the first eight results are not in any discernible order.

I had a similar occurrence a few days ago when I searched for a different name, so I don't think it's limited just to Brother Fred!

We adjusted the weighting of search results to provide more expected results. This is live now.

Items not showing on Playlist

stan knobloch 2 weeks ago updated by Admin 2 weeks ago 3

When I add a sermon or past event to Playlist, it doesn’t show when I go to Playlist.

When i go to the sermon or past event and touch the ellipses it provides the option to remove from the Playlist.

I have the newest version of IOS.

The ability to listen to the Children’s Harp songs

chip_schneids 4 weeks ago updated by Admin 4 weeks ago 1

I’d like to be able to play the songs for my children from the Children’s Harp. I notice that the other books have that ability, is there a reason the Children’s Harp doesn’t?

Question on new baptism around the table

haven blough 1 month ago updated by Admin 1 month ago 1

I am concerned that the elders in this podcast never talked about sin and how baptism doesn't mean anything if not proceeded by acknowledgement of our guilt of doing wrong and need for cleansing by God's power. Will this be discussed in a future episode?

Background playback issue after pausing

Rodney 2 months ago updated by Admin 1 month ago 2

Background audio works until I try to replay it after pausing for an extended period (no more than 10 minutes). The media controls still appear, but playback won’t resume until I reopen the app. I’m using a Pixel 7 running Android 16.

We can replicate that when 1) a user started audio playback, 2) left the app, 3) paused playback from music controls on lock screen, 4) waited more than 5 minutes (but less than 10 minutes) to resume playback, without re-entering the app any time during that period, that the playback controls appear but do not function.

Standard native Android behavior is that player controls are cleared off the lock screen after 10 minutes. However, Android's system handles battery/memory usage for background apps for web views (which our app runs in) by freezing use of media controls at 5 minutes. This creates a five minute gap with non-functional player controls. Unfortunately, according to our developer, there is simply no good, reasonably priced way to change it given Android's limitations and the way our app is developed. So at this time, we will not be pursuing a fix for this but if there is enough user demand, we may reconsider in the future. We only have a finite number of dollars to use for app maintenance and new features.
