Improvements to the search engine for hymns
I'm on an Android device, although, from what I've heard, everyone experiences this, and I'm sure there is issue is platform-independent. Frequently, the search will not bring up the sought after hymn for the simple reason that the user didn't get all the capitalization and punctuation exactly the way it appears in the hymnal. It seems like it should be somewhat trivial to make the search engine a little more forgiving in that way.
Agreed. The current search behavior is not ideal. Unfortunately, fixing this issue is actually a much bigger deal than one would expect. I don't remember the technical explanation from the developers, but they'd basically have to rewrite the entire search functionality. So it is on our list of future improvements to consider, but it is well behind other higher priority items.
Notifications for newly uploaded content
My suggestion is to create some sort of notification for the user when new content is added to the Studio, Events, or Around the Table sections. I’m thinking of a number, flag, or bar by the respective section that would be visible from the home screen. This would allow users to know when content has been added without having to open each section. Once the user opened the section, the notification symbol would disappear.
Version 4 of the app enables you to customize your feed so you will see any new postings in any podcast, event, or church that you follow right there on the home screen.
Allow multiple chapters for a sermon
Currently we can't enter multiple chapters for a sermon since we can't enter non-numeric characters such as hyphens. It would be nice if we could enter hyphens at least so that we could enter multiple chapters such as "12-13" or "9 & 10"
