CRT, LGBT agenda

JBM 3 years ago updated by Elder Moderator 3 years ago 1

Parents need to be aware what has become law in many states that their kids are being taught.  Most people we ask, have no clue what CRT or the LGBTQ agenda is - and yet they have kids in school.  It is something that will affect our future church.

Thank you for your input on these important subjects and how culture is impacting us. We will look at this subject and consider how we can teach/communicate to our church.

How do we as Gods children respond to someone coming into our church or home with a gun ready to cause serious harm or even death?

Make sure you’re not only telling your daughters how wonderful and perfect they are, make sure you’re telling your SONS that when choosing a wife, they should be looking at the heart and not obsessing with a “perfect” outward appearance.

Statement of Faith

JCStoller 4 years ago updated by Elder Moderator 4 years ago 1

Our family enjoyed listening to the two ATT talks on denominational vs. congregational. While we agreed with much of what was said, we were disappointed that the Statement of Faith was not held as a standard for holding our congregations and brotherhood together.  Outside of the Statement of Faith there is much room for differences in administration, circumstances, etc for congregations and individuals who love and serve our Lord.  We are from a small church that gets visitors from many different congregations. It is easy to let many “differences” go, when your brothers and sisters in Christ love and support the same denominational doctrine.

The role of the Church vs. the role of the government regarding financial assistance.

I greatly appreciate”Around the Table,” it is wonderful information.  I recently listened to the ”Connectedness During Lockdown” episode and was encouraged to hear all the good things happening.  But I was somewhat disheartened by a comment made, “brothers in church are helping others who are unemployed to apply for government assistance.”  That is not the government’s job, it is the job of the church.  We are commanded to “bear one another’s burdens,” “especially to those who are of the household of faith”  Harvest Call is currently collecting for this very thing.

It seems very helpful to have a discussion on the role of The Church vs the role of the government, on any given topic, but specifically on financial needs.
