Search results sort order
I realized today that when I search among sermons for a speaker, etc, the results seem to be listed in a random order. For example, I was looking for a talk by Brother Fred Witzig, so I searched for his name and the first results are from the following dates, in this order: 8/17/25, 12/29/19, 12/19/19, 12/11/16, 1/21/22, 8/10/25, and I didn't get to his most recent talk on 11/30/25 until the ninth result in the search list. After that one, they appear to be in descending order by date, but the first eight results are not in any discernible order.

I had a similar occurrence a few days ago when I searched for a different name, so I don't think it's limited just to Brother Fred!
Answer
The "Zeltwanger" search results make sense. The top results have "Zeltwanger" twice, once as the speaker and another time in the description. Some of the "Fred Witzig" results are puzzling, though. We'll investigate that and adjust the search settings. There is no way to make it always works as one would expect while still allowing for some "fuzziness" on the search terms.
The All Sermons updating issue has recently been posted to the bugs section. Please add your comments on that there.
Perfect, thanks! Turns out the "all sermons update issue" was posted by one of the friends I mentioned! :-)
Something is still goofy with sermon listings and/or search. The search is better than it was when I submitted the ticket, but for example, when I search for "Zeltwanger", the first two results are from 7/24/23 and 9/4/22 before it lists current results (2/1/26 as of today). When I search for "Fred Witzig", I get 4 old results from 2025, 2019, and 2016 before it lists a January 2026 result.
Also, it seems related that when I initially go to the "Sermons" tab, the top listings for me under "All Sermons" are all January 4, 2026, and when I scroll to the bottom, there are only 15 total listed. If I pull down to refresh, the wheel spins a long time and never does refresh. I've got two friends who can't see anything more recent than January 25, 2026. If I go to an individual church, it works as expected, with the most recent sermons listed on the top and normal listings as I infinite scroll down the list.
Let me know if you need further details or clarification.

Thanks for reporting this. Looks like we need to adjust the weighting of these type of search results to produce a more logical ordering.
