Add a persistent notification so you can swipe down from the top of the screen from anywhere besides in the app and have a small toolbar to play/pause whatever is playing. Also use this to show downloads, status, progress, name of download. Currently only the default Android download manager shows that some files are downloading, but they have random names so you can't see the actual title of each file.
