Age of accountability

When does a child become accountable for their sin? It seems like it’s more complicated than simply knowing right from wrong. A young child raised in a Christian home knows right from wrong at a very early age And chooses wrong. Additionally, we are born sinners and therefore guilty in the eyes of God.

If a young child (5-10) would express sorrow for sin (or fear of hell) be able to make a confession of faith? And if so how do we make space for these baby believers? I’m not talking of child evangelism this would come unprompted from the child.
